OK, I need a little help. My ignition actuator broke, so I went to replace it. I got the old one out, but now can't get the new one in. The old one was broke at the junction of the section that connects to the key and the section that runs parallel down the steering shaft. I could pull the straight piece out because it was broke. But now when it isn't in two pieces, I can't seem to get it to go into the hole in the housing. Even with the tilt steering tilted all the way down the actuator is too long to get into the hole and around the housing. This is on an 89 F250 if that matters. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
The tilt pins are easily removed once you find a suitable screw. I cheated one time and slightly inserted a sheet metal screw. You can pull them out with a pair of pliers.
