Why the Hesitation?

I've tuned up, made carb adjustments, even change hole in the linkage for the accelerator pump. Weither it's warmed up or cold my little 302 2bbl in my71 f100 still has this nasty hesitation when I let off of the clutch and start rolling. I sometimes have to double clutch it to keep from choking it down. What in blue blazes is doing this. After I get'er rolling it's fine. Plenty of power (for what it is anyway)
Any help will be appreciated. And yes it's still a Points distributor. It's all completely stock OEM under the hood.

CARB!!!

either rebuild it or get a new one. (a new holley 2bbl costs about $290)

One thing to check before condeming the carb is the play in the distributor bushing. If you have a dwell meter hook it up and blip the throttle while watching the dwell. If the distributor is worn it can change the dwell quite a bit which also retards the crank timing.
