Grab Handles?

We're gettin on in years ... and its gettin' to be a little tough for my wife to get up into the truck.

I'm thinking about installing grab handles in the 82.

Any ideas where they can be installed.

That rectangle panel over the glove box looks promising ... I'd have to back it up with a bit of steel ... but to tell the truth ... there just ain't a lot holding these dash boards on.

I've looked at the A pillar and the top part of door opening ... ?

Any ideas?

Throw a rope across the seat and both of you grab a side to get in.

lol

I'd say either right above the door opening on the inside of the cab (like where they're usually located on newer vehicles) or on the outside of the cab, right behind the door (looking toward the rear of the vehicle).

I would do a grab handle on the "A" pillar. There is more structure there than on the inner roof. Or the one on the outside of the cab corner.

Get a pair of handles that go on the "B" pillar right behind the door.

These were installed mostly on F-600/F-900s so it should be easy to get a set out of a truck wrecker.

Here is a 1986 F-700 with them factory installed. Look closely at the B pillar to see the handle.

My dads 96 f350 had a oh s*** handle mounted above the door on the inside... he took it off because people were hitting their head an it.I put it in the same area but a little higher up and like it a lot on my 86, I think because I have no headliner it got positioned a little higher.
