Not a hard job but you will need the puller tool, you can rent one from AZ I think. I just borrowed one from a mechanic friend.
One thing to remember about our power steering pumps is that they provide the pressure for hydro boost power breaking system in these trucks. They are generally self bleeding but you'll have some air in there you'll need to work out if you do replace the pump..when I did mine I compressed the brakes and turned the steering wheel back and fourth until everything felt right.
You might try a flush, and see if you can identify where the leak is coming from.

Nice explanation Lisa!! The only thing that I can add is that you should jack the front up a bit and turn the wheel form lock to lock a few times to purge the air out of the system if there is any left in there.
Yup, as Jim said Great Job Lisa. I'll also add one thing. Make sure to set the pulley at the same depth on new the pump, as the original. Or you'll find yourself chew'n up Belts.
Be sure you don't turn it lock-to-lock too fast, which you CAN with the wheels off the ground.
I found my steering stabilizer had leaked a green shock oil after I was through with the fluid change. It wasn't glycol, as I tasted it and it was oil, not sweet.
Thanks all, I'll just drive it until it falls off or I take her out of town. Leak is not too bad, had a lot of foam in fluid, so it probably got low and got air in lines.
I restored a 76 Eldorado with hydraboost, it failed on a drive to Vegas, (never tell the drunks you're watching Fear and Loathing with "Hey, I got one a them cars in the garage" unless you plan to recreate the movie), by the time I got back I had bigger arms and legs! A true redneck exercise regimen.
