Try it using a analog meter (can be had cheap now days just about anywhere), run a jumper from "SIG-RTN" to "Self test-In" then run the meter's leads, "neg" side to "Self test-Out" and "Pos" lead to the positive battery terminal. Should be able to retrieve any codes via needle sweeps that way.
I'm not seeing any reason for the MIL not to flash during the self test if it lights when the key is turned to "Run". Juice takes the same path.
Paul, My 95 has the same "MIL" that my 94 has and the wiring diagram for the instrument panel only shows the one light. You been in a 95 where it had two lights or one in a different location?
correction. code was 33. replaced EGR valve control solenoid mounted on EGR & also adjusted timing from 12 BTD to 10 BTD. Runs great now & acceleration has improved. Thanks for all the help everyone.
