Glove box question.

Did Ford make a lockable handle assembly for the glove box ?

My early 99 did not come with one and would like to add one, OEM or aftermarket.

I did a qwick search and had no luck finding any infomation.

I just wish they made one that would shut the light off when it's closed. My last two Fords both had that problem. I have an old boat ramp ticket wedged in there to keep the light off.

Yours must not have this feature, but my '02 has a battery saver feature that shuts off any lights or accessories left on after 30 minutes. My brother went through countless batteries and alternators before finding out that the switch to his glove box on his Dodge was broken. Light was always on. Expensive fix, unfortunately. Didn't help that he barely drives it, so it was almost always dead when he needed it.

Mine will shut off the radio and I know that it shuts the under hood light off after a few minutes. Doesn't work on the glove box light though.

Sorry for the hijack, Mark!

Oops . me too. My '02 doesn't have a locking glove box, just .45 reasons not to break into it.
