I hate to burst everyone's bubble but we live in an age of world trade and world economics. The computer you're typing on is largely made out of country. Fords are made out of country. If you don't buy foreign goods, you're not going to be buying much of anything.
Get over it.
Mike
And THAT is the attitude we the people need to get over. If we don't buy the crap, companies will get the message. Some things I do have a choice, like I refuse to buy a Mexican made Ford Fusion. If irt means my next car is Japanese owned, but made in America... then so be it! YOU GET OVER THAT SORRY ATTITUDE.
There is NO EXCUSE why our government (both sides) can't get their heads out of their asses and stop saying they care about the economy and ACTUALLY DO SOMETHING. Higher taxes for companies exporting jobs out of the US, lower taxes for those importing them to the US or keep them here. PERIOD.
The japanese bombed pearl harbor, i will never forget!!! the chinese are much better people even know their quality is inferior.. but i prefere to buy neither. i like American
I guess no one here remembers the the Union "Look For The Union Label" , "Buy American" ad campaigns of the late 70's, early 80's?
We were all warned about this, years ago. No One took it serious, and here We sit.
Isn't it funny how freaking stupid the American public, as a whole, is?
I mean, just look at Our Government. On sale to the Highest Bidder, for years. And now We complain when the Bankers, Insurance Companies, etc. all sit high and mighty, while the middle class suffers. Who's to blame? Look in the mirror.
Sir, the average Joe isn't to blame. We didn't sell out America, big business and government sold us out and we're left to deal with the fallout.
There's nothing wrong with buying a foreign car so long as it's manufactured in America. They tend to have a higher North American parts content than American made cars and they employ our fellow Americans.
Many of our issues actually come from the textile industry.
Our labeling sucks too. It's nearly impossible to tell from the label if something is actually American made from US materials or simply assembled here and called American made.
All trade with China should IMHO be banned until they meet or exceed out minimum standards of safety.

Manufactured in America?
even the chest thumping toyota tundra commercial admits "ASSEMBLED" in America
assembled indicates non us made parts!
Check out this link. You'll find that the Tundra is made of at least 80% domestic parts, just like the F-150. The F-150 was made from 90% domestic parts in 2007, according to the article.
