Help! tranny mounted E-brake removal
Guys help me! im working on a 2002 e450 conversion van with a tranny mounted E-brake. im trying to replace a leaking seal inside the drum area. i have the drive line removed but cant get the drum off! the brake isnt applied. ive tried beating on it but no luck! please help!

I believe that yours is the type that you have to remove the housing that mounts to the back of the transmission. there is a couple of seals and bearings inside of the housing. there is a large nut that holds the shaft and bearings together the last one I was going to reseal it turned out better to by the new unit from Ford. The shaft was worn some of the parts were on back order and we didn't want to have the truck down waiting for parts. You can't make any money with the truck parked.
