been trying to find some for my '54 panel (good straight one's), has anyone tried the fiberglass boards from fairlane company. i'm not a small guy and i use them to get in, so they need to be strong.

thanks for your input

I can't find the info but I know someone makes steel panel truck running boards. They are the smoothie type without ribs. If I find more info I will post it for you.

I got some back in 1989 for my 55 I used them also they held up great I just got some steel ones a couple years ago just because there still isn't anything wrong with the glass ones. I never painted them just clean them up.

running board sources

Sacramento Vintage Ford (where I've spent way too much $$ ) has them for your model ribbed like original (stock style ) $400.00 /pair Smooth $400.00 /pair

Hot Rods $310.00 for fiberglass
Try Smoothie Fabrications Iron Station , N.C.877- 218- 1937

i'll look into the vintage ford one's. i should have put i wanted stock looking (ribs) ones, mine have plates welded on top under the step cover and i was thinking either cutting and welding p/u sections in mine or find better ones.
