its alot harder to do now because it flashes once waits 2 seconds flashes once and waits 2 seconds, it does it 6 times then a long pause then it shows code 117 and then i get screwed up from there out
I did an engine on and I get 4 flashes and nothing else , when it starts flashing it starts to idle alot higher and wont stop till i unground it
You're doing the KOER test (Key on, engine run) That is a normal part of the test, let the test continue it will idle back down.
You need to take your time and track the flashes, the test repeats itself so you can check your work by making sure you get the same thing twice each run.
I know its a pain, reason why me and so many others have bought a code reader for about 20 bucks.
What is the reason for checking the codes, are you having problems of some kind? If so list the problems and what if anything you've done so far to correct it/them.
Well for one it shakes bad and when i punch the throttle it dosent realy have nearly enough power it should, and im 16 this 93 being my first truck so i havent realy even drivin that many trucks. I drive in OD and when i drive normal it revs up high and then shifts at around 45 but sometimes if i play with the throttle it shifts fine.
116- Engine coolant temperature higher or lower then minimum voltage / 245deg F indicated. (full of coolant, clutch fan working?)
172- O2 sensor fault/lean.
213- spout circuit open. (Did you remove the spout shorting bar and forget to put it back in?)
332- Insufficient EGR flow detected. (Do you have a vacuum leak (could go with 172)
538- Insufficient rpm change during KOER test. (Push the gas pedal to the floor when directed during test?)
536- brake on/off circuit not activated during test. (Push the brake pedal when you should have during test?)
532- Cluster control assembly circuit failure. (Do all or any of the gauges in the dash work? Does it have one in it? (could cause trans shift issues depending on the exact cause of this one)
I know my temp sensor is junk because it only ever gets as far as the n on really hot days. Youll have to enlighten me on the spout thing. Ive had this engine out and in twice so i should know if you tell me where it is.
I also have all of the pollution stuff off the truck
