Looking for 6.0 Intercooler

Anyone know of someone with a 6.0 Intercooler (in good shape) for sale? I hit a deer on my recent trip, and will be upgrading turbo soon, so figured while the front end is off my truck, it might make it easier to install the intercooler... I live in Canada, however I am happy to ship here from the states if necessary.

Thanks,

By the way, what pressure is the 6.0 Intercooler good to?

You won't be anywhere near the intercooler when you swap turbos. It is only good if you find a great deal. I am talking FREE or up to a 100 bucks. Otherwise it isn't worth it. Plus you will have to buy new adapter boots for it to work.

Ya, but he has the front end off his truck from the deer damage bro.

That's why it'd be an easy bolt in for him.

Zilla, if you have the cash, try and find a 6.0 trans cooler too!

The 6.0 trans cooler is really required for the 6.0 IC. The stock I/C lines run where the bottom of the deeper IC will need to be. I have heard you *can* bend them if you're VERY careful, but the stocker is really too small anyway. Here's my 6.0 trans cooler & IC ready to go in:

As you can see, the IC is a bit bigger than the stocker, but the trans cooler is 3x bigger! It was an awesome mod. My trans temps dropped 50 degrees!

Stupid Question, but could a person take say 2 of the 7.3 IC's and attach them together to make one big one? For example, if you cut the bottom of the tanks off one and the top of the tanks off the other, plugged the holes on one, and attach the two together? Would it work? Or, put one in front of the other? Attach the inlet/outlet to the back of the tanks on the other?

Sorry -- I missed the 6-speed in your sig. DUH!! LOL

And there is no room for doubling up ICs. It's already packed tight in there. The only option is a slightly longer one, and as you can see from some of the feed back, it's a questionable investment. I have a tad over $300 in both my IC & trans cooler, so I feel good about it. I wouldn't drop $1200+ for an aftermarket IC, that's for sure!!

Thats great to know! I hope I can make arrangements to get down for the meet. I need to go get my drivers licence upgraded to the one that allows me into the US without a Passport (Quicker than getting a Passport).

If anyone else knows of where I can get my hands on one, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks,

Well, Height wise there is lots of room, what if someone could attache one on top of a portion of another and take up the same height as the Rad for a reasonable price? Is it as simple as say TIG welding them together and ensuring that there are no leaks?

There's not THAT much room. The 6.0 IC takes up most of the space. Take a look at the pic below. It's kind of hard to see, but that's the stock trans cooler down there. The stock IC ends at the top of it. The 6.0 IC hangs down about 10" further, IIRC. Those lines down there on the left side of the pic (top of the cooler) are why the autos need to have further mods for the 6.0 IC to drop in.
