Yeah, I'm being a little self serving, but also getting the word out about a site for returning soldiers who are having difficulty adjusting to life back in the states or just need to know there are others who understand. It's called NotAlone.com.
I write for them now and again and just had a new article posted.
I'm not quite sure how trying to help others is "SELF SERVING". Good for you our service men & women returning from war many times need help. Glad your doing your part.

Two of my boys serve with "Lord Stathcona's Horse". My older son came back from a seven month tour in Afghanistan. He was directly involved in some serious fire fights and took some lives. He came back with some guilt and other baggage. I'm glad that there is now better support for our returning fighting men & women.
Great site.... I can't see how it can do anything but help. Good on you.
Excellent work TT and not the least bit self-serving. In fact, it's one of those selfless acts that you don't see much anymore. We've talked before and I think it's great that you are involved with this. And again, pass on my thanks to you other half for his service!
Hope that those returning take advantage of every resource that they can to get back into civilan life. Instead of being self serving I would say that it is a great effort that needs more attention. Had some friends that came back from VN that sure could have used some of this.
Thank you guys. This has become more important to me than I ever thought it would. My soon to be husband suffered too long alone while dealing with PTSD, I don't want to see it happen any more.
I first started writing for them after the owner of the site found my blog about Chris' PTSD and our fight with the VA. She does amazing audio interviews, if you get the chance to listen to these guys it's worth the time. The stories are heartfelt and very poignant. And by the way, Vietnam vets are greatly cherished over there because they know and can offer so very much to our newest wounded warriors.
