I'm actually having a great deal of luck using the library website in virginia beach. I went to the library to get some help, and they showed me how to access the library's websites, how to get periodicals, or whatever I needed, and how to look up and acknowledge sources. If you go to google (a very good site, I use it daily), you are going to likely see about 10 million hits for Henry Ford.
Yeah, the library and college libraries would provide good sources. I don't recomend any sites because your teacher could be different then my teacher.
Don´t forget to research the subject of Mr. Henry´s anti-semitism (he was kind of pro-N*zi in the years before the WWII) and also his attemp to end the WWI by his famous travel, those are topics of great interest not many people point out.
If you REALLY want to know some good stuff about Henry Ford both personal and work life, (and his family) you absolutely MUST read the book called "The Fords an American Epic" You will get some great info. in this book for your paper.
I saw a thing on the history channel that said that he worked a good bit with George Washington Carver. Using some soy plastics in his earlier cars. FWIW
I suppose that a part of the exercise is intended for you to explore available resources.
We are a resource, I grant you that...
What happens when you are confronted with a library under the same circumstances, and you cannot solve the puzzle on your own?
I suggest that this is where the exercise is truly pointed at...
May I suggest sources of obscure knowlege on the net, as opposed to common knowlege that we may know as little of as you do?
Tell us what you find out...
THis may seem unhelpful - but in reality it is exactly the opposite.
You are to become a hound, and the target is clear.
SEEK!!!!
They might just as well have asked you to present a paper on "The History of the Dill Pickle"
I take it you chose the topic yourself?
I will also venture my guesswork this much farther - whatever it is, the answer is in resources on campus. If you swing too widely from the mark they are looking for - you may have problems.
Find out what they have on file first.
It should provide clues as to what is expected....
Thereafter we can assist you in complicating the issue wonderfully!
*grinzz*
I was an instructor once, I know the pathology. They expect you to drag out ideas that they have taught to you. To mimic what has been programmed in already, so that they know they have been effective. Ask yourself this: What have they harped on the most lately?
Get to that point first, before springing any suprises. Find out want they want.
This is an essential step, if you intend to exceed the expectations.
And then fun can be had....
Can you get any info from prior classes?
Every puzzle has a solution. YOU are in a box. How can you find out more about the box?
Mmmm?
Bottom line Dustin - it is YOUR assignment.
I ain't gonna do the work for you.
Like the preacher said: "I TELL YOU THIS IN LOVE!!!"
(Which we all know is total BS)
Get on it son - the clock is running!
(TOLJA I was an INSTRUCTOR)

But yeah, you need to go to the library. Also, get onto your schools page and see if they subscribe to any online databases. They would be a very good place to start, and are reputable. Check out you're local library's webpage too, for the same reasons as stated above.
