elec choke wire

Iam installing new carb with elec choke. where do I wire a hot wire for the choke. A freind said to tap into the stator wire from alt. is this ok? Thanks

Some of the posters have said on here before that the stator output on the alt is not a full 12 volts, which is fine for the factory choke which is designed for it, but it has been said the aftermarket carbs need a full 12 volts, which would have to be brought from the fuse box acc or ign section.

elec choke wire

I just finished hooking up an electric choke cause I was sick and tired of that stupid hot air choke. It works just great and it is connected to the "S" terminal of the alternator.

Solenoid connection won't work since it receives 12 volts only on start-up. You need 12 volts on the choke as long as the engine is running. topo4u2 said his worked on the stator connection, so if possible I would use it. This is the best way, since it only puts out voltage if the motor is running.
