Gold F150 Sighted

Was at work yesterday and spotted this at a neighboring facility. The gold never appealed to me, viewing it on Ford's sight. Have to admit now in person it looks pretty hot! Sorry not the best image though. Took it with my cellphone and cropped it a little.

There are a few of that color in my area. Ford dropped the color for 2010 though.

I was wondering why I couldn't find the color on Ford's build site. I thought maybe I was looking at the wrong trim level. I wanted to call the color "Aztec Gold" but my recollection wasn't that clear and I wanted to confirm it on Fords build page.

It was called Amber Gold. I liked the way it looked on flare sides. Sadly, flare sides have benn dropped too.

Okay, I initially wanted a 2009 when I started looking for the excellent rebates they had. They were few and hard to locate. I did find an FX4 in the color in the picture. This truck was loaded and I LOVED it. The color was different (which I liked) and it came with every option I wanted.

Unfortunately, my wife said it would be a cold day in hell before she bought a truck that color let alone drive it. In the end, settled on the 2010!

I really like that color. I started a thread about it a little ways back asking what people thought and most hated it. It looks bad on the Ford website(when they had it) but somthing looks awsome about it to me in person. Ive seen one FX4 in that color, and the crooks at the dealership near me had 5 XLT crews (and still have 2 at the time of this post)

That dealership sucks, and if anyone in the Detroit area wants to know which one it is PM me and Ill tell you, that way you can avoid them.

That's actually not that bad a color when you see it up close. There are two (or were two) at a dealership about 40 miles from here. At first, I didn't care for it but after seeing it in person, I like it a little better. Don't think I'd want one but it's not the worst color I've ever seen on a truck.

That color isn't "Amber Gold"... it's "Baby **** Yellow". Ford apparently had a misprint in the order guide.

Ew.

There is a reason they dropped the color.

Ive seen it on the new Mustangs too. Are they dropping it from the entire Ford fleet, or just the F150?

One of the flukes in Ford's history to be sure. But any owner can claim 'rare color' when it comes time to sell.
