Where can I find an A/C duct for a 78 F150 ive tried lmc and even google, I find everything for the air conditioning system except the replacement ducts that go inside the dash that connects to the vents for the air to flow through.
ive tried the yard closest to me and most of the ones that fit my truck are in the same shape as mine are in or worse ill try going out into fort worth were they have larger yards but i was trying to see if anyone knew where to find new ones, i guess i will try the ford house also maybe they still carry ones that can fit.
There is some Silver plated tape that will stick on stuff forever. It's metalized on the outside.
Can you rebuild your vents with that stuff?
Maybe they arent easy to get to eh?
I have a problem with my blower (77/460/AC) and they tell me its a booger to get that thing outta there. Have you had the pleasure?
Look for the hard plastic type ducting for everything but the center vent. That ducting is still the "hose" type. That way the only one you'd have to worry about deteriorating is that one.
I have opened the dash and took it out it wasnt really hard but it was alittle time consuming, i actually have some of that metallic styled tape and I might just be able to repair it the "skelatin" of the vent duct is still in decent shape so thats what i will try and do first.
If your duct work was anything like the stuff I ripped out of my truck it just fell apart in your hands, what a pleasure.
This may sound stupid, but try your local Lowes, Home Depot, or even local hardware store. Get some plastic flexible tubing for drier vents. They make different dia. of it and I couldn't find as small as I wanted, but made it work.
