7 Lug questions

I've got a couple of questions I have not been able to find answers to. This all relates to a 07 SCab RWD 8200lb GVW with 7 lug hubs I purchased.

Do these units have Tire Pressure Monitors in them? I've read the book and can't find anything on them either way and as I didn't buy it new, don't know (haven't any extra lights on so not sure either way). Nothing listed on any docs I have for it. I assume there's some type of pickup that reads them if it's equipped for TPM's, if so where is it at and what does it look like (haven't found anything yet)? I need to know if I put snow tires on it if I have to get some more of those also.

Second is rims in general. Mine had Eagle Alloy 058's on it when I bought it. They're 17" and look to be 8"w, assume it's 4.5" backspace (haven't had a chance to dig into it yet). They look ok stylewise but the tires stick out about 1"+ from the fenders, I'd like to have them inside the fenders. Anyone else running stock tires on a 7 lug RWD, not lifted etc and have replacement rims that don't stick out? If so, what are you running?
One of the wheel sponsors here has a deal on some Alba 780 rims, looks like a good deal but they're chrome spoked units and I'm not so sure how they'd look on my truck. The other thing is they're 5" backspace (vs what I have) so I'm not sure the tires would stay under the fenders and they're chrome, and I'd rather find an alloy finish rim (prefer alloy finish rather than chrome or painted). Third thing that worries me is I haven't found anything on the load capacity of those rims so I'm not sure if they're up to the load requirements of the truck.

Thoughts? Ideas? I'm not in a rush, other than a pair of rims (minimum and probably steel ones for now) to put some snow tires on for this winter, anything else would probably have to wait till spring (too many expenses, too little money).

Appreciate any ideas.

Paul

yes, any 2007+ passenger vehicle has the TPMS. Federal Law.

but for some reason I'm thinking that some of the "work" vehicles were exempted from this.

guess the 100% solution would be for you to let about 10 psi out of 1 tire and see what happens. drive for a few minutes and see if the light comes on

Sorry I can't be more specific. I know every other 07+ F-150 has the system

look up DixieMudder.

he has a 4x4 version of your truck. He can point you towards rims that would work for you

get some cheapie steelies for the snow tires.

and for the TPMS...cheapest solution is a small chunk of electrical tape. just cover it up IMO.

the light will go out when you re-install your regular rims.
Appreciate any ideas.

bold stuff above

btw, lucky you for getting a Heavy Duty F-150. I'm slightly jealous of your 4.10 gears

Rims

Tylus

looks like Dixiemudder has the same rims I have. Hopefully someone else with something other than Eagle Alloys will chime in. Sure wished they didn't hang out from under the fenders like they do.

The 4.10's are working out pretty good so far. Believe it or not, this one rides as well as my 97 does, maybe even a little better. So far it's impressing me, especially for how large it is.
