I'm putting my 79 f150 cab on a 79 250 frame and planning on selling the old frame and rear axle. It's a nine inch...How much should it be worth? pretty good condition frame...one part could use a patch, but other than that everythings fine. i have no idea what it'd be worth, and i think my brothers are trying to screw me out of it. lol. anyone have an accurate answer?
Hey Gina, really? They are trying to SCREW you out of it???? Why not tell them to give you ATLEAST $100 for it???? hahah...thats all its worth....perhaps if its 31spl and trac-loc than it may be worth more...
Well PA girl the 9inch is a primo piece, the going rate though of course depends on the location and availability. I buy them for rebuilding, and will very often in the deep south can get them for 50 bucks or less. If you want more you need to rebuild it and pander to the crawler clubs in your area so for 140 to 150 you can put a new ring and pinion in and for 92 bucks you can get a complete rebuild kit so 250 can bring as much as a grand, But you NEED to know just what type of unit you have! Ford made the heavy duty style and the not so heavy duty one too its in the webbing and the pinion support you can get pretty messed up putting 800 horse to the wrong one. my best advice to you is research, get with the money crowd car shows talk and find out just what they need, and of course use the wealth of info available on the net. Good luck and good building JNT.
