I have noticed that when I floor the truck it takes a long time to get it to come to life. Yesterday I saw that the light was going to change to yellow so got on it. The light was red by the time the motor responded. It has the power but the time delay is not safe. I will not let my wife drive the truck. 45,000 miles on the truck. Now when I need to pull out quick I power brake. This is a way to do away with the lag. I do not want to take it to my dealer because they flashed it and my MPG went down by 4 to 5 mpg! I was thinking about a programmer but if I have problems with the head-gaskets later I do not want Ford to use that to void my warranty.
The newest flash might help, prolly not what you wanted to hear. I had some lag, got new flash and switched to 5-40 syn and it helped alot. What oil do you run? Tuner helped even more, I only run Spartans stock+ (20 hp) which feels like more than that, mostly to help with the 37's but I like the crisp shifts also. How recently have you changed fuel filters?
try to watch your boost gauge and see when you start building boost. than chack when you get on it if any smoke is comming out. you might need the EGR system to be cleaned or you have sticking vaines in your turbo.
BTW what Tim said will help too. Especially Spartan tunes
