Is this NTZ filter actually the same as the "Motorcraft" one??? I know it says on the site its the same just wanna make sure.....cause this one comes with a new o-ring and is half the price!!!

Got the ntz style of the FT-145 filter...and there is a cardboard dowel in the middle like a toilet paper roll with holes...i thought i remembered the Motorcraft one not having anything in the middle....is this right?

I realize this sounds strange...does the dowel come out when you change the external filter? This thread is the first I've heard of the cardboard dowel. I'm coming up on a tranny service and trying to "learn my self" the best I can before under taking this little project.
