again. I was told by napa I have a 351. not a 302... Everything i have checked, and others i have talked to and a family member that bought the truck new, says its a 302. But 2 napa guys say 351....
How can i tell for sure? Im working on getting the door sticker readable. I looked on the motor i cant find any markings...
Actually I just too a quick measurment and it's more like 8" for the 5.0 and 9.5" for the 5.8. You can also ID the motor by the height of the distributor base on the block, roughly level with the intake manifold is a 302, about an inch below and it's a 351.

You must have one of those rubber tape measures. I measured the 351 here under my workbench and it measures right on 11". The bolt centers are 9 1/4".
That's really weird, although in some ways the 87 was an odd pony.
I haven't owned one that far back, but I did own several in the same body style and they all had the embossed upper intake. I wonder if that was normal for the '87 or if it's not the factory intake.
