alt problems

alt problems
I own a 2000 ford excursion with the 7.3, I have had alot of trouble with the alt. Sense i bought it in 2005 it already had a rebuilt alt on it but sense that i have put 3 more on it, does anyone else have this problem. I talked to a ford service center & they said they have seen it to ware they have recomened to some to carry a spare alt with them if they plan a long trip but others say they havent heard anything

It seems that now days an alt. goes bad and for some reason they want to take the batteries with them. Or vice versa the batteries take the alt.
I would suggest you check both batteries and the alt. I know it is expensive but some times all three have to be replaced at once to cure this type problem.
Also check all grounds and clean the battery cables. Do this very well.
