My flat 4 plug on the truck side is shot. Has anyone replaced just the flat 4 plug? My 7 pin is still in good shape. Dealer wants about $150 for the whole box. I suppose I could get a generic plug and rig that up. It'd be nice to keep it neat. Just thought I'd ask.
I was going to recommend the same thing. They work perfectly. I got mine from a local trailer shop for about $8.00. Here is one from eTrailer.com for $9.95: http://www.etrailer.com/pc-A~PK12716.htm Just what you need....
That's exactly what I have - I bought one which has the 4 and 5 plugs in the same piece. I needed the 5 for the boat with surge brakes (reverse lockout). I find it easier to connect the trailer to vs. the factory connector.

I just baught one a few weeks ago and it was about $30.00 from Ford.
Try a salvage yard, I replaced mine as the 4 pin did not work, I got one at a local u-pull yard for $3. Plus you get to scrounge around looking for parts! I also have the adapter, but its nice to have to option if you can't find your adapter when ya need it!
