Depends on what size truck it is 4X4 & so on , what year ,to make the truck run better you might try bumping up the timing to 12-14 before , long tube headers help alot , better heads , gearing ....Lew
Good its a 150 shorty so the 302 will work well , just keep it geared to the tire size, don't know much about fuel economy but i think long tube headers & a good exhaust will help in both areas ,,, Lew
Well to be honest your probably better off with the stock air box and a I6/460 tube or just the stock tube than you are with the cone filter. I would do that and get a replecement high flow filter. The open element cone filter just sucks in hot underhood air.
I had the KN FIPK on mine for a while and all it did was waste fuel. Also, when it was hot outside and my truck was warmed up it felt sluggish.
If you want it get up and go change the gears to 3.73-4.10. What gears does it have now? This is probably the single most overlooked thing by most people.
