As mike said, Auto parts stores usually dont have the right equipment to pull codes from a PSD. And they generally dont like to admit that. I can think of a few threads where guys were chasing problems that didnt exist because of false info.
if your cruise stopped working and the abs light comes one, I would starting by cleaning/replacing the rear ABS sensor located on top of the differential. It's a one bolt affair. As for the SES light, get a code scanner, and don't use the free scan service at the parts stores. Their scanners don't work on PSD's since the computers aren't fully OBD-II compliant. Find someone with a good scanner. If you want to purchase one check out auto enginuity with the ford expansion pack, little pricey to start, but well worth the money.

Bill, NAPA call the VSS a ABS sensor. He needs to ask for the ABS sensor at the parts store.

Welcome Randal. I bought my truck from the origional owner who managed a Ford service department. They used motorcraft oil. I changed to Rotella and the engine seems happier.
