Well we got her home tonight, it is too late for me to post pictures, I am super tiired. She is a little more rough than I suspected, I hope we havent bitten off more than we can chew. I can not find any ID numbers (where should they be?)
It is a 1952 F1 original V8 truck with a 2 speed automatic. The dash is in great shape as are the gauges. Glove box door is there annd the steering wheel has a FOrd Crest that says 50 year anniversary 1903 to 1953?. The gigantic heater box is there as is the bench seat and gas tank.
The fenders are rough in front, but the hood is good and the bed and rear fenders are very good (wood is trashed off course) . THe grill is perfect! Doors are both very good but nneed hardware. All glass is there not great shape. FRame isvery good.
Well I will post somme pictures tomorrow.
Not too bad for 400 bucks?? Cost me 250 bucks in trans fees to get her here. Figures huh.
the anniversary stuff belongs on a 53 as far as i know . didnt know there was a dash plaque though . mine had what was left of the oe horn button { gotta get a new one } . nonetheless it'll be fun . and if thats got a ford amatic in it thats an oddball . i cant recall seeing but one 56 with it behind a y block , and tim's 57 3/4 ton had it .everything else was a manual i can recall laying eyes on .
There is no dash plaque it says 50 years in the center hub of the steering wheel?
Since I know very little about these trucks its looks like someone may have put a 53 column, trans etc in this truck at one time. There is no motor or trans now. And as far as I know the ford-amatic wasnt available until 53. Heck it may be a 53 cab I dont know. The bad part is with my broken ankle I cant even get out there and dig at it for several weeks. I will keep you posted if I find out any thing else.
We really like the looks of the column shifter/steering wheel from the 53. I wonder if we could hook up a C4 to that shifter somehow? I know the Ford amatic is only a 2 speed Ryan
