I jumped in my truck today and the truck seemed low on power then I first left the apartment. I gave it more gas and it finally went on and the tranny shifted hard. The temp outside was 75 but it felt more like 65.
I don't know but your avaitor is funny. Guess we got put in time-out the other night. I think they are pretty independent. I got rid of my operation of it. There are several ways to go about it.
1. Unplug the sensor
2. Gut the ebpv valve
3. Gut the exhaust flap
I recall reading 40 degrees. Not sure but I am quite sure you should not be experiencing it above 50.
After 2 days with my first one in Feb of 05, I unhooked mine, taped it off and it remains stranded in the valley tied off to a line somewhere.
I would not gut the valve or flap myself, cause I want to convert it to an engine brake some day. I pull plenty of heavy trailers and I think it would be useful in that instance.
Why would you want to get rid of it? Doesn't it help the truck warm up?
To some, the plunger area of the pedestal is prone to leaking and to eliminate the problem in the future from doing it again, people gut it and plug the hole. I still have mine hooked up and I heard mine operate very litely at 70ish degrees. As to sluggishness, sometime the EBPV will stick and when you go to take off, you can mash on the pedal and the truck won't get out of its own way, it will unstick, mine did, happened once to me.

Thanks. This is my thread that I am trying to keep as the center of my project thread. Right now I would love a thread or some pics on removing the trans. A visual before I do it would be nice.

Geez, let me have a look at that thread. Can't believe nobody has posted the torque specs. As for the engine, just pull it. Leave the tranny in place.
