83 E250 Tranny
I was wondering what Overdrive transmission I could put in a 1983 E250, 460 cid? Is there any pros or cons on doing this. It will be mostly used to pull a 35 foot 5th wheel travel trailer.

Manual: ZF, earlier model with conventional speedo drive methinks.
Automatic: E4OD. You can adapt the AOD, but by the time you beef it up for your work and buy the near $800 adaptor, you might as well go E4OD. You will need a $500 controller.
I have links, let me know which way you are going. What trans is in it now? Another way to go is the Gear Vendors OD, which, while spendy at close to $3000, will probably be cheaper than the other auto trans options.
