78 F250, 400 C6. Truck runs fine when warm, when cold-first 5 minutes, anything more that the faintest pedal stalls the truck. Starts right back up. The choke seems to be working. Anything I can check?
I have not done anything to it. Yes, it has the valves. The choke works as far as it runs the rpms up while it's cold, but even with the higher rpms, the slightest tap chokes the motor.
Have you actually observed the choke plate closed when the engine is cold? (under 70 degrees or so of course)
There are two linkages, one goes to the choke plate and the other goes to the fast idle cam. So the fast idle can operate when the choke plate is disconnected.
