No worry on the highjack.. it was one of my upcoming questions. I dont have a clue about it but I cant recall seeing a camper with a gooseneck but then I havent been looking or researching it. Certainly would be the best of both worlds
Ok ... I cant figure out how to post pics and how to post a signature. Driving me crazy. Do I have to be a supporter? I read that it was min 25 posts for the sig...
yes you can retrofit a 5th wheel to a gooseneck. check camperworld or simular sites to see how easy it is.
Thanks,
Thats good to know that I am not limited to just a conventional trailer. We are going to a local boat & RV warehouse this weekend to look around and see if there are any deals to be had. So that is nice to know thanks again.

Rep to you for the info. and the possibilty of having me spend more $$$ LOL
2007 F250 6.0L fx4 lariate chrome package with alot of the mods I wanted on it. Truck has 32,500 miles
Since you only have 32K on your truck I'd definitely look into the 7yr/200K Diesel care warranty so if you have any issues with it, Ford picks up the tab.

Other than that, congrats on the new truck!
Isn't this really a 2 year / 100K warranty in that it extends the original warranty to a total of 7 years / 200K?
I am interested to know more about extended warranty. Deeply concerned about the existing warranty with the edge attitude on there though I havent used it....

I learned alot about trailers today. Most important thing I learned was to research and find the exact trailer you want after about of year of really checking out trailers. The hide a ball hitch will work but ultimately the bigger in bed mounted hitch is cheaper and easily removable. Lots to learn before rushing into a purchase not matter what you think/feel initially.

Just a friendly warning about generic tuners, they can cause you much grief with these trucks. Including but not limited to voiding the warranty.
I'd recommend a substantial amount of research on this topic before doing something you regret.

I'm not to sure on the details, but that's usually how they do it. In some cases they go 200K on top of what your current mileage is. But I don't know for sure...
Ed or any ford dealer should be able to explain the terms of the 7yr/200K diesel warranty.

Don't use that Edge if you like or even love your truck.
My neighbor lost his '04 Excursion to one because Ford wanted $7800 to fix his blown headgaskets, Egr cooler, and trans issue that the Edge caused.
The 5R110 aka TorqShift transmission is virutally indestructable. It was built to tow the heaviest of loads AND handle the crushing torque of the 6.0; all while staying incredibly cool at the same time. When properly programmed, it can handle anything you throw at it and then some. Don't get me wrong, Edge makes amazing power, but they don't do much with the trans to adjust for the power. From what I've read an understand, they increase the line pressure in the trans and hope for the best. Whereas SCT adjusts the shift points AND increases the line pressure to compensate for the power increase. Which brings me to my next point...
If you're moderately power hungry like me, get an SCT programmer from Spartan. It's a much safer bet than the Edge that's on your truck. It's custom programming, so it's not just one size fits all; it's what works for you and your truck. The best part is that Matt specializes in the 6.0 and 6.4 so he knows these engines well. It will net you some power and fuel economy, all you need is an exhaust system and a set of guages to keep your eye on things. These are amazing trucks with an engine that has a lot of untapped potential, if you take care of it, it'll take care of you.

I already have the hide a ball in my truck though from a trailer I no longer have. So its already paid for.
Yea TD.... I crave a little more HP dont dont really need it at this time. I havent used the Edge at all.. to scared of anything going wrong with anything .. and the truck has enough as is without risking anything. The edge hooked up shouldnt be an issue as long as I dont dial it up any right?

Yeah, uh, I used to say the same thing. I'll never put a tuner on my truck. Bah, its only a matter of time. Mind you, I only run stock+, a 20 HP tune for DD but I have had a few others in it just to try. Un-flippin'-believable. Its amazing what that little hand-held programmer I have will do to my truck!
Toreador, I am gonna have to save your post and just paste it into replies to the newbies that come on here asking about the Edge, BullyDog, etc... SCT- tried and true. 'Nuff said.
