hows it going everyone? i have a 79 f150 that i put a 71 460 in and i am mondering the horsepower and torque rating on these engines because this thing is a monster!! Also once the engine warms up it cranks very slow and sometimes not at all, this is the second 460 that has been in this truck and have had this problem on both. It also sound really bad when cranking even when cold ( like a chevy that needs shimmed) any info would be helpful.... thanks

The pre 1972 460 with 10.5 to 1 compression were rated at 365 hp @ 4600 and 500 ft/lbs of torque at 2800.
Your starter issue is obviously heat related and is probably the starter.
no just manifolds but they are close as they can get to the damn starter. i just bought some starter heat wrap stuff so i will try that.
A part of my lower exhaust temp may well be the replacement of the stock 4180 emissions crap carb with a 4150, 600 CFM vacuum secondary Holley with dual stage power valve, one step stiffer spring in the secondary vacuum unit and 1 step leaner primary jets and 2 steps richer secondary. Recurved distributor and a single 3" exhaust. Oh and a 4 core radiator with a fixed seven blade fan.
