Here's the run down and what I'm looking for. I've got a 04 350, 97,000+ miles. Just finished a 5,000 mile trip pulling a 12K 5th Wheel. Ran like a champ. What I am looking for is having the engine rebuilt or a major overhaul. Everthing is still stock, what I'm looking for is what upgrades should I look at doing, and who in Colorado can get this done. I'm in no rush since the engine is good. So time is not important, just getting all the information I need to make the right choices. Thanks for everyone's help in advance.
if you ask me, as long as your truck has been taken care of 97,000 miles isnt anything to even think about.... I would nt worry about it until you have to especially if the truck is paid for. But if your looking to some "upgrades", you may be getting yourself into trouble?
You can do the upgrades such as studs, etc. but I'd be surprised if the rest of the motor is even broken in good yet. Rings, bearings, etc = I bet they look new still.
I talked to my tech buddy in NC who fixed the fan wires on a 470K mile 03 that had NEVER had a wrench turned on it besides maintence. pilot injection--EVERYTHING stock.
IMHO you don't need to WASTE your money. Just tune it, mod it, and have FUN.
