I have a '73 Kurbmaster with a Ford P400 Chassis. It has a NP 4 speed (1st is a granny gear). Due to the Body/Chassis combination, it has a hydrolic clutch. So there is very little linkage adjustment possible. I haven't pulled the inspection plate yet, but I still think there is a problem, hopefully with an easy solution.
The problem is that the clutch is totally engaged once the pedal is just off the floor, about 2". The rest of the travel is nothing. It seems to shift well, no slipping etc. Just no play. It is real easy on the knees, LOL! You can do all the shifting just moving your toes!
So, do you think it's an adjustment problem or is my clutch going away?
check the fluid level, check around the firewall for flexing/cracking where the master cylinder is mounted and check the pedal bushings. Could also be a worn clutch throwout lever. However if I had to guess I would say the clutch disc (friction disc) is worn.
Hope this helps.
