Actually the big nozzle should just barely fit.
I can get them in my filler enough that they will work, but it is really a pain trying to slow the fuel down enough that it goes in the tank with the pump handle.
Won't fit mine. Kinda embarrassing becuase the little diesel ranger will accept it as will my dad's GMC.
Like I said, there is probably something off about my truck.
I built my own fillers and in the top of the tanks there is a white plastic breather with a small tube running from it. I removed this and it leaves about a 3/4 inch hole with a rubber grommet in it. I ran a 1 inch hose tail on an elbow into this hole and ran some 1 inch fuel hose up to another hose tail that I fitted to the filler pipe just below the cap. Fuel goes down the big pipe air comes up the small one problem solved. That said i also have a flat bed so the factory fillers did not fit anymore.
That is exactly what I want to do to mine and almost exactly how I planned to do it.
On the 86, the cap is not vented (the white breather is the tank vent), so I have to work a vent in that somehow.

I did the same thing on my flat bed dump. I added 1 food of clear tubing to i can see it when it fills. I also plumbed the air vents back into the filler neck and it works like a champ. I think the big problem is in that little white plastic breather, it just doesn't let enough air out.
It's not supposed to. It lets air in as the fuel gets used and out as the temp in tank rises. Both quite slow processes. The white bit has a float so the fuel cant overflow out the breather when tank is full.
This is what i have done front and rear.
Custom fuel filler 2 in stainless filler with 1 inch breather vent incorporating original vent.
1 inch hose tail fits nicely into original grommet. It's raining by the way not leaking.
Welp, I refueled at a different station. No changes. No pinched filler neck. No dirt or grime in the "itty bitty" vent hose. Soooooo unless you guys have any another suggestions for the problem looks like I'll be putting the inner filler neck back in.
You need to get the air out, whether it's an internal breather or a external one like mine you need something. It took me about three redesigns to get it just right and I still can't use the hi-flo pumps but I fill in around 3-5 min per tank. Also with the flat bed I only have about 3in fall from filler to top of tank so the bigger vent was the only way for me. The po fitted the flatbed and had the filler for the rear tank come out between the cab and tray, this made it about 6feet long and he just got used to 30min fills. I don't have that sort of time to waste so a redesign was in order.
