I had it brought to a mechanic and had the whole truck "looked over" i guess you could say. he checked pretty much everything that could be checked. i am in germany so i didnt want any unexpected problems from it. im not particularly looking to go faster, and def not planning on stretching the limits of the motor. just a little more power for when i need it: towing, hauling, a little offroading every now and then. the reason i asked about carburation is cause i had a 66 bronco and put a 351 windsor in it and i loved it.
p.s. like the gerbils line
The 300 is a great motor. It pulls, and lugs. I dont think there is much you can do, besides let it breath. That was the case with many Ford Engines. They didnt have the soft cam issue's of the chevy's. or lack Horsepower and torque like the chevy's did either. I guess that why GM is in so much trouble financialy now. They really dont have a marketable product, that can hold up... One might say, There Gerbils went on strike.
hey Destroya you said you had a 351 throttlebody attached to your 300....well I have a windsor tb and a 300 I got from a junk yard (the throttle body that is) cleaned it up and would really like to make it work- any advice how did you get yours to attach to the throttle cable and what did you do to match the bore, do I need bigger injectors, will it kill my 20mpg gas mileage. Im very interested. whats the outcome on power do I need serious electircal work. Im not a 300 god any suggestions?
