Because I have nothing better to do this evening.........
You can just pop the piece that is in there now out and put a dab of super glue on it. It is made in a way that its not suppose to spin but the plastic has wore out.

To get it to fit tight you would have to flatten some of the crimped places out. I just had it sitting in there for the heck of it. My original piece is going back in as soon as I can find the dang super glue.

I bought my truck and it already had a different shifter **** on it. I have always hated the "8 ball" type of shifters...which is weird that I like mine. It is the cue ball (white ball) from a pool table. It is the entire shifting rod with a cue ball drilled and glued on top. Extremely comfortable to shift, I can take off the shifter and use as a beater stick, and it is fun watching tire dealers drive forward for a little while until they realize reverse is left and up.

I made my own 8 ball shifter one time and it was only one time. Was speed shifting one night and the d@mn thing broke and sliced the chit out of my hand and thats when I decided that I was never doing that again. Not the speed shifting part either......
