New to Forum but it's been a wealth of info so far. had one question: just bought a oem bed extender for my 2001 s-crew, need to purchase mounting hardware. any help in locating would be greatly appreciated.
Strikers can be bought at the dealership. Part number W707381-S900.
If you don't already have the threaded portion in the bed, you will need to drill and buy two nuts/washers for the rear as well. Remove the tailights, measure where you want the pivot point to be, and drill. Just make sure it'll let you fully rotate the extender 180 degrees without catching a corner on the bed.
The strikers will be similar to those that latches the tailgate, but different in size.
you may have holes already in the side ofyour bed you will notice that they are not threaded .the strikers will fit into the holes use slight pressure you should be able to make your own threads.the strikers are about $15 dollars each i suggest going to a junk yard and finding them cheaper they look just like the tailgate ***** almost.
Thanks Mawk, already have the threaded portion in the bed. on to the dealership. thanks a bunch.
