brake bias issue
Got 2 trucks doing the same thing. One is a 99 and the other a 2000. Seems like only the front brakes work. All parts are good, pins free, calipers working, etc. Just seems to be about 90% on front, 10% on rears. My 2006, by comparrison, will stop on a dime and you can feel the rear brakes working like they should, with and without the trailer behind.

Stuck proportioning valve, is what it sounds like to me. Some people say you can slowly drive, and jam on the brakes a couple times, and it will correct the ratio... I have never tried it, nor needed to.
It is also said this process will cure squeeking brakes, if they are good.

you are correct. Sounds like a stuck proportioning valve. I was not aware these trucks had one. I was not able to locate one on the 2000, the lines seem to go direct to the abs unit. Probly quite tolerable if this was a grocery getter, but it gets old going 200-300 miles every day with a loaded trailer. My front rims are black with brake dust and my rotors are getting bad (they are only a few months old, right from the dealer).
