I just finished loading the Jeep for my first tow with my new truck. I have to say it does not sag nearly as much as my 2002 150 Screw did. I did not need to pull as hard on the WD Hitch either. So far I am impressed with the truck. Come tomorrow at 6:30 I'll be starting out on the 2 hr trip with a 2 mile hill at the very end. I'll report back how the truck does.
Yup! Haven't been out since May! Going just for the day. I'm taking my older brother for his first time; he is riding along to see what wheelin' is all about. I'm almost as psyched to tow the jeep this time as I am to go wheelin'! My wife says I'm just nuts, and laughs.
Back from my wheelin' trip and I am most satisfied with my towing experience. My baseline is my old 2002 150 and this 2009 far exceeds the performance of that truck on all levels. The new truck is very smooth and handles the load fine. I had no problems with holding gears and in fact felt the truck did a great job holding speed when going down hill too. This trip has only served to confirm I made the best choice for me in purchasing a 150. I am impressed with acceleration and holding speed up hills in PA. This truck is a capable tow rig for my 6-8 times a year. I appreciate the tow mirrors even more now!!!
I knew you would be happy. The wife I pulled through PA, up and around the Applications, and back to central IL. Pulled much better than my 2001 F150 and got much better fuel economy. Like you I am very happy with it.
