2001 f 250 sd with e v10 I come to a stop and when I take off you feel threw your seat something a lil jerk I guess you could say. I have check the joints, ball joints check suspension parts and not finding it. any suggestions
Take a look at the carrier bearing and the ujoints on the rear shaft. Then wiggle the pinion shaft to see if it has play. I'd also take a look at the leaf spring bushings, if they are deteriorated it could allow the axle to shift around.
My just started clunking as well. Looks like I'll be addressing this tomorrow. Just wish I had thought about it when I replaced the rear U joint last year.

A few days ago my buddy asked me the same thing. It turned out it was his 48'' lawn mower sliding back against the tailgate in the bed.
I had a clunk when accelerating from a stop. It wasn't too bad, but noticable. Turned out to be the back rear ujoint. Did both rears and greased the spline. It was a big improvment.
Went to do this today and found that the bolts are not regular hex head. Does anyone know what the bolt is so I can get the proper wrench for it? It is like a 12 point 1/2 inch but the 12 point 1/2 inch wrench I have is just loose enough to slip under high torque.
Thanks
