back up camera not working

back up camera not working
hmm, i went to sams and bought one of these back up cameras
put the display on visor and plugged into cig lighter
when i turn it on it comes on and off, it seems to be flipping thru screens, av screen, rvc screen, it has just acted weird from the first, not sure what to think
i hooked the back up camera to the trailer plug, used the ground there and the reverse in it for power, i have not gotten the display to see the camera at all
but the display seems to be malfunctioning
has anyone else had these kinds of problems?
i dont know if i have something hooked up wrong or if i got a defective one

i found out what it was, i plugged into the ground and also reverse light on the trailer hook up and for some reason the ground was not getting a good connection or something, it looked like it was but when we changed the ground it worked
