Thanks, Diane. I couldn't find those before. Thanks, everyone!
Barry what was wrong was I had the chip upside-down.
Now I just need a few more spare minutes to install it. Today was the first time I had a few spare minutes in a long time. It'll probably be Saturday night by the time I get to try again.
It takes all of 20 minutes to install it... just git 'r dun.
Mike the install was started in TN just didn't work out quite right. Now if I'd had more time Sunday and didn't have a nosy, concerned parent in the truck for 13+ hours it'd be done. We already got the hole cut out and everything we just couldn't get the chip to seat right.
Good deal..

Nice pic Barry. The hole I drilled is right in the front, straight out so no bending of the cable, not that there's a difference, its all good just wanted it straight out for my application. I need to get a pic of mine for future reference..
I thought about doing that, but I fugured it would stand less chance of being pulled loose if it was wedged in. It has a little slack to prevent pulling.
I don't have any pictures, but it just pushes up on it and holds itself there. The problem I had was plugging the wire to the controller. It went on upside down, and I pulled it out 3 times before I realized what I had done....GRRR
Exactly what I did when I installed my DP.

OMG... I would kill myself if I had to pull that plastic everytime I wanted to swap chips or change something... I have had the whole back of the PCM cut out for over 4 years, no tape holding the chip... Never one issue.

Finally got a few minutes to work on it today. Ran the wire and put the switch in today. Put the chip on and double check everything. Put the keys in the ignition and try to start. Switcher doesn't light up. Cranks and cranks, but won't start. So I pull the keys and pull the chip. Starts up and I drive back through town. Get to a parking lot and think hmm maybe the LEDs on the switcher aren't working. Reinstall and turn the ignition on. I hit the + button a couple times and tried to start. Cranks, but won't start. Pull the chip again and drive home without it in.
So here's my thought: Could the switcher be broken and the chip doesn't see it so it just stays in no-start?
