Im looking to swap out my factory speakers. Im looking at theese http://www.crutchfield.com/p_113KFC6...ie.html?tp=105
any opinions? Im keeping the factory head unit. Will it have enough power to make these sound respectable? Im not looking to rock the world ,been there done that, im to old now. I just want something that sounds good when a good song comes on the radio and I crank'er up a bit. Would I be better off with a 5x7 or 6x8?
I put those same speakers in my 06 SCab. They sound good, but the stock head unit doesn't have enough power to drive them well. Not much bass to them. If you don't care about having good bass, they will be fine on the stock system. I have an old school Sansui 4 channel 840 watt amp I am going to put in for the Kenwoods and a Pyle subwoofer setup w/ a 500 watt amp. I want a good SQ system that will rock pretty good when I feel like it. By the way my stock radio is the 6 cd changer w/ MP3 capability. Hope this helps.
the stock headset wont drive anything over 40w very well...when i worked at a shop people would scrape and buy crappy low priced speakers and then complain and then up spending more money to get them swapped out. I would recommend on your free time to stop by best buy...they always have open box items that are in good condition...a buddy of mine scored some sweet deal with an amp, speakers, and install under 150....
I had the OEM Audiophile system. Sounded great, but replaced the door speakers anyway. Used Infinity Reference series components up front and Infinity Kappa coax in the rear (both from crutchfield). It did make a definite improvement. I am certain an external amp would also improve the sound further. Thinking about doing that and replacing the sub, but not immediately.
