Gear Vendor under/overdrive unit problem

Gear Vendor under/overdrive unit problem
I have one of these units on my 1987 F250.I am getting no response out of it.the dash control unit lights do not come on.All wiring is hooked up, and the inline fuse is good.I tried emailing tech support, and all those knotheads did was email Me installation instructions for a '68-'82 Corvette 
. Anyone out there got any clues as to what to check next?

My Dad's RV had almost the same issue,, his would work/die intermittently. Their tech was very responsive and helpful but in the end he ended up sending the unit in for a "rebuild" but all that was wrong was the controller that actually makes the shift in the unit. They said it was in good shape so replaced that and sent it back. Don't remember if it was a module or solenoid but it was in the unit itself not in the dash.
