Ok, this is probably a really stupid question. How does the PCM know it is not in its original truck? Beside the Key not working in the ignition, How does it know, whats stopping us from using a newer PCM in a older truck. (same generations though) for me, I'd love to put in a 06 pcm instead of my 04 one.
I know alot of things would have to match, engine trans plus vehicle options, but whsat else?
