Windshield Cracks

Is there any way to stop a crack from spreading in a windshield. It's just a single crack that started thanks to a rock at the top of the windsheild, comes down about 4 inches, then takes a right turn. It used to be maybe 6 inches in total length but is continuing across the windshield and is now 12 inches long.

Thanks-

Joe

I've heard that if you take a glass cutter and make a score mark at the end of the crack it will head it off and stop at the score mark. Good luck. --GB

Windshield Cracks

i had one start in the lower left corner and try to proceed into my line of vision. i took my thumb and put pressure above it and ran it to the top of the winshield. this way it wont crack across.

I have one that goes from the top to the bottom of mine right in the center and I used a glass cutter to tap or run it to the bottom of the glass to stop it from going all over.

I think you your crack will keep growing. Mine did the same thing. It was ok until we really got some cold weather, when I put the defroster on in the morning to get the ice off the windshield, the crack started lengthening each morning. It started as a rock ding on the extreme right side and cracked all the way over to the left. I gave up and spent $220.00 for a new window.
