2 stoke oil in the fuel??
My next door neighbor has a 99 7.3 with 293,000 miles. He claims he has been running a quart of 2 stroke oil in the fuel tank once a month for years to clean the injectors...does this really work?
He also claimes to run a quart of reg gas in with a full tank of diesel from time to time....I don't think I want to try that.
Just curious if anyone else does this.......

I don't think just 2-cycle helps with gelling or does much to clean injectors. It definitely adds to the lubricity of the fuel though, which *IS* a good thing with today's dry ULSD. I run only 10oz. of DK in my truck every fill-up. It *does* have a cleaning affect, adds to lubricity (to a lesser degree than the 2-cycle), and increases cetane. The winter version also keeps it from gelling on top of all the other stuff. That's why I just run DK and not mess with the rest...

I was on my way to get diesel this morning, first station was out of diesel, second stop had the pumps apart for some reason. I just made it to the pump at stop three when the truck ran out. I filled her up with fuel and a quart of 2 stroke, It took forever to get started again. (last time I wait for the low fuel light to come on) It took a few miles to get the air out of the rails, but it runs much quieter than it did before without the 2 stroke.
I guess I'll make a habit of using it.

I see alot of yes men answers here...sorry, saying that "yes", 2-cycle in the tank works to quiet the cackle a little, but, the other half of the question was .... how often????? I keep loads of 2-cycle for my weed eater and blower mix, heck, i can go pour some in right now....hehehehehe
