A bozo gave me a nice splash of red paint on my front bumper off of his Taurus. His car has a nice crease in the fender, I just have some paint smeared on my nice big steel bumper. What should I use to remove the paint?
This is an XL truck, with the grey (not chrome) bumper.
I always appreciate responses to my questions, and although it's been awhile I wanted to say thanks. Still haven't gotten the paint off, tried a little rubbing compound but it didn't work. I really haven't had much time try anything
I would just use a chemical paint stripper. It will not harm your Chrome bumper. - I promise you that.
Chrome is an electro plating, the stripper is chemical. there will not be an adverse reaction.
After you get the paint off, (about 1 minute- probably less) I would wash off remaining stripper film, and apply a light coat of Carnuba wax to the whole bumper.
