In the past, I have used compressors from large equipment or trucks. Just like the Yorks, they have an oiling system. I would install then under the truck via a belt and pulleys that were a part of the driveshaft. Since our older trucks have a divorced transfer case, running the compressor even while the truck was not moving was simple. This was easy since hanging a large compresor on the front of the engine was slightly more difficult to to.
Ran a few set ups like that in the past.

I have thought about that.

I have seen this setup on mini-trucks.

Really? I guess there is no reason why it would not work given their limited space too, but with the lack of a third driveshaft, it would mean that the vehicle would always have to be in motion to provide motion to the pulley.
With our trucks, we can just disengage the t-case and run the vehicle in gear. This way we can air up our tires while keeping the accumulator or strage tank full.

hmmmm

never thought about putting it there. I will probably mount it on the engine though. I am just kind of weird like that. I also thought about putting one of those cheap 12v compressors under the hood, then when I need more air I can just flip a switch. I would like to run the truck air ride level adjuster so that it would keep it at the preset ride height. I am hoping to put the bags on tonight.

Thumbs up Air bags

Wow!

I got my air bags mounted up last Thursday night and mounted up the 10' S&S Overhead camper Friday night and headed out. We rolled across the scales at around 8700 lbs loaded. The air bags held it level and controlled the sway quite a bit. The family was quite impressed that the pickup sat level with that camper on it. Then I showed them the airbags. (did I mention that I used airbags off of a Peterbuilt). I will post some picks when my bride loads them off of her camera.

There are only two issues with the air bags; the shocks do not really control the movement, and that there is not a lot of room between the springs and the frame and in order for it to sit how I like when empty there is not a whole lot of travel.

oh, and our cheap camper did not leak either, we were sort of concerned after looking at the sides of the camper. Now we have our Hillbilly hunting cabin.......

I am thinking I might have to copy your idea. It seems to work really well with the camper.
