To make this as short and sweet as I can...

My Truck has a whipple blower (with the whipple ECU), Banks Ram Air and Banks Power Pack.
It looks to me that at one point it also had a Banks Ottomind installed (judging by noticing the cuts in the ECU case).

My main question is,,,
Does the Banks Ottomind reprogram the ECU when it's installed? and if it does then would those changes maybe still be programmed in the ECU even with the Ottomind removed?

My thinking is,,, I maybe should consider getting my Ford ECU reflashed back to original if it is infact altered now from the Ottomind so the whipple ECU can do it's job maybe better than it might be doing at the moment? I've had issue with getting only 2lbs boost out of the (over rated) whipple blower since day one and it only crossed my mind recently that maybe it could be the Ford ECU causing this.

I will be swithing to a X3 sometime this year, but for now I would like to clean things up the best I can if possible.

The ottomind chip should not have done anything to the factory programming. Once removed it will be back to the factory programming.

The ECM can be reflashed to a stock program to ease your mind if anything happened. Give Jody a call if you want to pursue this. He can do it for you.

Curious,,, do any of the available chips/tuners actually change the "ECM" factory programming?

I would prefer to have someone here (associated with FTE) with experience to do any programming and tuning I need or will need, but I'm WAY up here in igloo country and I do need my Truck for work daily. I would be in a bit of a pickle if I lost the use of my Truck for any length of time.
I don't have any contacts at any of my local Ford dealers/service dept's so if I end up asking one of them to reflash I can only hope they will not be too greedy

I've searched for someone local here (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canaduh area) that works with SCT X3 products (6.8 gasser) but I've had no luck. I was going to post a message here asking if anyone knew of a local (to me) X3 custom tuning shop when the time comes to take the plunge.

We have been FTE Sponsors since 2006. If you need your PCM, reflashed Jody has done my 2002 HD F150 many times. After he did the mods to my truck it only had a flash on the ECM, PCM, or ECU(they are all referred to as the same part) until we came out the the F6 smartchip.

If you desire any help I can get in touch with a friend in CA who may be able to help you get in touch with a dealership that can help you.

Yes the Factory settings can overwriten temporarily with a chip or programmer. Once removed you go back to the factory settings. Only reflashing the ECM or PCM will replace the factory settings.

Also note, most dealerships charge around $90 for an ECU reflash.

I haven't had the time to stop by any of the dealerships here yet. As soon as I finish the project I'm on right now (work) I will take a day to shop around and see what the dealerships have to say if nothing else happens to turn up.

Do you happen to know someone around here that deals with X3 tuners?
